Beautiful Pea Green Boat

"The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat." Remember that wonderful children's poem by Edward Lear? It was on my mind today...

(1) The Owl ... because I just finished reading "Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl" by Stacey O'Brien. (Wonderful read.)

(2) The Pussycat -- because our Cleo (never warm enough) has recently found a new cuddle spot in a basket, on a shelf. Now, she has to jump onto the seat of a stuffed chair, then to its arm, then to its back--then leap across to the shelf and climb into the basket. But, apparently, the fact that there's a pillow in the bottom of the basket (and that it sits above the heating vent) ... makes it nirvana in Cleo-ville.

(3) My Pea Green Boat is actually a $3 antique gravy boat I picked up at the antiques mall in town last year. After putting away my Valentine's Day decor, I felt the need to go for a wee bit o' green. While ransacking the cabinets, I found the gravy boat, some green silk leaves and a tiny bear to go to sea under the bell jar. He seems happy to be sailing away in that warm little oasis that the sun hits every morning. :-)
