This one's for me. I decided to call it "J-School Chick Goes Artsy," since its black, white and red (read) all over--like a newspaper. Get it? Journalism school. Okay, never-mind. 
Anyway, I had a few really self-indulgent hours to work on this on Saturday when the boys went to a movie.
I used some of my best and favorite fabrics (some silk), tried out my scalloped-edge stitch on my sewing machine, added a red satin rose applique and some checkered ribbon detail along the top edge. Isn't it fun? So many more combinations to come!
