A Blog is Born

Finally. Do you know how long this has been on my list of New Year's Resolutions (and general 'to do' list)? A while. But here we go. This blogging thing seems like something I could like. First, the business profile: I'm a writer (J-school grad), love photography, design, reading, getting to know people.

To relieve stress, I'm constantly restyling my life, home, family, closet and little corner of the world. I spend WAY too much time studying design books, antiquing (junking) and (re)creating things to make them pretty/different/unique. I've learned that not everyone can connect with us "artsy, right brain thinkers." Some call this weird. Trivial. Whatever.

Not to get lofty right off the bat, but my goal here is to combine pieces of the past (everything from ephemera to recollections)--with a fresh perspective and a little respect for days gone by. I mean, you have to know where you came from before you can know who you are--right? I'm going to try to focus on the positive. I'll forewarn you--I'm an old fashioned girl (in case you didn't get that with the Past Perfect thing). So, if you are a kindred spirit, pull up a chair.
