Holy Circle
I’m in church this morning, mentally kicking myself for getting sucked into spending too much and running around like a crazy person to all the stores (non-stop) and decorating, etc. but not making time for important things like, uhhhhmmmm, remembering the REAL reason for the season. (Hello?!)
I’m vowing to go to Oakland Nursery after church to get a live greenery Advent wreath and put it in the center of my dining room table. Then, I’ll put my cake stand in the center and place the nativity set on top of it—front and center, where it should be to remind us all why we even HAVE Christmas. Then I start thinking, “No. I’ll go to Walmart instead. They might have wreaths. And while I’m there I’ll pick up … NO! STOP THIS MADNESS!!! Refocus. Breathe. Concentrate.”
So, I get in my car after church and decide to just head home. No spending today. I step up on my front porch and there, on the bench, is the most beautiful live wreath I’ve ever seen … with a huge red plaid bow on it. There is a note from my sister: “Happy Merry (Susie) Christmas. Love you! See you this week!”
Only a crazy woman would stand on her front porch crying over a wreath. (A crazy woman who believes in God-incidences.) Let this week's wild rumpus (and royal celebration) begin. Come. Let us adore Him.

Awe-That is so sweet...and how funny that we think a like so often ("sisters, sisters..."):0) Funnier yet, I'd gotten in my car and thought, "now, what would be the best use of the couple of free hours of my time", without any intention of buying anything-let alone the beautiful live wreaths..but they were so gorgeous, and reminded me how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family. Glad it made you happy!
